Important Updates Regarding COVID-19

At Patterson Physical Therapy, the health of our patients is our top priority. With growing concerns around the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, we wanted to keep you apprised of what we are doing to keep you, as well as our staff, safe.

Steps that we're taking:

• Each therapist sees only one patient at a time and changes linens between patients (as always!)
• Due to the current county mask mandate, facial coverings are required by staff and patients in all public areas of the clinic.
• Equipment is wiped with disinfectant after each use.
• All touched surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant with increased frequency.
• Staff is employing thorough hand washing often and hand sanitizer when necessary.
• Employees are to monitor body temperature daily and in the event of a fever, will be instructed to visit his or her medical provider before returning to work.
• Our Jackson office has a separate waiting room available for those at higher risk due to advanced age or compromised immunity.

What you can do to help:

• If you feel sick or have any symptoms, as a courtesy to our therapists, staff, and your fellow patients, please call us at 731-300-4950 to reschedule, even if it’s last minute.
• Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or tissue if you cough or sneeze.
• Throw tissues out immediately after use. Trash receptacles are located throughout the clinic.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Wash your hands thoroughly and often with soap and water. This is the most effective weapon to fight the spread of germs. If you can’t wash your hands, use hand sanitizer with more than 60% alcohol. It is necessary to only cover the surface of your hands—1 to 2 pumps is sufficient.
• Unless the child is the patient, please leave children at home. With their hardier immune systems, they could infect others without experiencing any symptoms themselves.
• Let our staff know if you have traveled to an area where you might have encountered an infected person.

But I'm only feeling a little sick. Should I really cancel?
While it may be tempting to come in for your treatment if you “just have a cough,” we do ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling at all sick. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, we ask that you contact your primary care physician for further advice. In the meantime, continue with your prescribed home exercise program if you’re up to it and reach out to your therapist via phone or in-app messaging if you have any questions.
